She employs graphic analogies to emphasize her concerns and often speaks bluntly to business and political leaders about their inability to coordinate action. In August 2018 Thunberg was able to take decisive action. She remained in the Swedish parliament, walked out of classes and held a placard with the words "School Strike For Climate". She felt this was necessary to gain political attention who wanted to act to reduce the global warming. Swedish media caught Thunbergs striking, and the news of her strike spread. In the following days, a plethora of students from around the globe joined her #FridaysforFuture strikes skipping school on Fridays in protest of the effects of climate change. Climate activists from across the world coordinated this Global Strike for Climate. It was a great success. 1.6 Million people in more than 125 countries took part.
