Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born 12 November 1961, in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now Onestiin Gheorghe Gheorghiu dej, now Onesti Romania). She was first gymnast to score a perfect 10 during an Olympic occasion. Bela Karrolyi, a Romanian gymnastics teacher who later became the coach for Comaneci, first discovered Comaneci at the age of six. First competing in the championships for juniors from Romania in 1969, she was 13th. And in 1970, was crowned champion. The first time she competed in an international event that was a preolympics junior competition for countries in the Communist bloc, she was awarded three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1975, she was awarded the All-around Junior Champion. In 1975, she took home 4 gold and 1 silver at her first senior international competition. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European champion. She was the winner of the American Cup in New York City in 1976 and became the first woman in history to complete a reverse double salto, which is a dismount from the uneven parallel bars. Her journey in the entertainment industry began during her teens when she started skating figure with her younger twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the traveling entertainment shows called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol's professional career started in the entertainment industry as a teenager. Early on, Carol began as a figure skater in traveling shows Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. The show featured dramatic ice skating shows.
